The authors use the following constructions of topological semigroups: (i) The set \(exp(G)\) consisting of non-empty compact subsets of a topological group \(G\) with the multiplication \(A.B=\{ab:a\in A,b\in B\}\) endowed with the Vietoris topology, called the \textit{hypersemigroup} over \(G\), and (ii) the convolution semigroup \(P(G)\) over a topological group \(G\) consisting of Radon measures on \(G\) with the weak \(*\)-topology and with convolution of measures as multiplication. A \textit{Clifford} semigroup is a semigroup which is the union of its subgroups. In the paper it is proved that a compact Clifford semigroup is embedded in some hypersemigroup over a topological group if and only if it is embedded in some convolution semigroup over a topological group. A characterization of compact Clifford semigroups embeddable in hypersemigroups over topological groups was given in [\textit{T. Banakh} and \textit{O. Hryniv}, Acta Univ. Carol., Math. Phys. 48, No. 2, 3--18 (2007; Zbl 1155.22300)].
