Let \((S,d)\) be a metric space which is assumed to be an Alexandrov space with curvature bounded from below by \(\kappa\in\mathbb{R}\). One denotes by \(T_pS\) the tangent cone at any \(p\in S\), by \(\mathrm{Lin}_p\subseteq T_p S\) the set of all points that admit an opposite, and one fixes a logarithmic map \(\log_p\colon S\to T_p S\). Also let \(\mathbf{P}\) be a probability measure on \(S\) satisfying \(\int_S d(x,y)\mathrm d\mathbf{P}(y)<\infty\) for some \(x\in S\). The main result of the paper under review is that if \(b^\star\in S\) is an exponential barycenter of the measure \(\mathbf{P}\), then the support of the pushforward of \(\mathbf{P}\) through \(\log_p\) is contained in \(\mathrm{Lin}_p\), which has the structure of a Hilbert space. As a corollary, one obtains a result that is related to some technical aspects in the paper by \textit{A. Ahidar-Coutrix} et al. [Probab. Theory Relat. Fields 177, No. 1--2, 323--368 (2020; Zbl 1442.51004)].
