The authors study a compartmental model for the spread of rotavirus including two strains of the disease and vaccination (complete for one of the strains and partial against the other one). It is assumed that those who have recovered from strain 2 infection cannot be reinfected by strain 1, while infection by strain 1 only gives partial protection against strain 2. The novelty of the paper is that global stability results are provided for a multistrain rotavirus model. The authors calculate various threshold parameters which determine the existence and the stability of the equilibria. They prove global stability of the boundary equilibria depending on the reproduction numbers. An interesting future extension of the results will be the global asymptotic stability of the 2-strain equilibrium whenever it exists, which is suggested by numerical simulations. Another extension might be including more strains of rotavirus in the model.
