It is proved that every locally compact, locally homogeneous separable ANR satisfies Brouwer's theorem on the invariance of domain, and that each connected space of this type is a Cantor manifold. Also it is shown that a closed subset of such a space has a nonempty interior if and only if it has the same dimension as the entire space.
