If two designs have the same values for an optimality criterion \(\phi\), one could ask which one is better for one or more other optimality criteria. In this paper some analytic results are given which allow to answer this question, if the technique leading to universally optimal designs as developed in former papers by the second author is successful. These results are applied to D-optimal weighing designs in the non- Hadamard case and D-optimal designs constructed by Lopes-Troya for covariate models.
