The paper examines the selection of n out of \(m>n\) facilities, such that the weighted sum of distances to their minimum location centre is minimized. Four heuristic solution methods are proposed. their efficiency is compared empirically for the special case of selecting n out of \(m>n\) vectors with minimum variance. The numerical results given indicate which method is preferable.
