Let M be a Sasakian manifold and (\(\phi\),\(\xi\),\(\eta\),g) be the Sasakian structure on M, where \(\phi\) is a tensor field of type (1,1), \(\xi\) is a vector field, \(\eta\) is a 1-form and g is a Riemannian metric on M. The pair of vector fields X, X'\(\neq \phi X\) which are orthogonal to \(\xi\) is called a contact quasi-concurrent pair if we have \[ \nabla X=fdx+\alpha \otimes \xi +\beta \otimes X'+\eta \otimes \phi X\quad and\quad C\nabla X'=f'dx+\alpha '\otimes \xi +\beta '\otimes X+\eta \otimes \phi X', \] where \(\alpha\), \(\alpha\) ', \(\beta\), \(\beta\) ' are differentiable 1- forms, f, f' are differentiable functions and \(\nabla\) is Levi-Civita connection on M. If there exists a contact quasi-concurrent pair in the \(\phi\)-basis on a neighborhood of each point \(x\in M\) we say that M has the contact quasi-concurrent property. Now, if M has the contact quasi- concurrent property, we denote by D the distribution defined by the contact quasi-concurrent pairs of vector fields. The authors prove that D is involutive and M is foliated by generic submanifolds in the sense of \textit{K. Yano} and \textit{M. Kon} [Anti-invariant submanifolds (1976; Zbl 0349.53055)]. More results are obtained provided a suitable condition is required for the mean curvature of generic submanifolds.
