This paper deals with partial operations on a set A having finite domain and being compatible with a given lattice L of equivalence relations on A. In particular it is shown that every such operation may be extended to arbitrary finite domains if and only if L is distributive and pairwise permuting - provided it is closed under all meets. Corollaries about affine (locally affine) complete algebras are derived.
