Direct factor varieties (Q790861)

A subdirect product A of algebras \(A_ i\) (\(i\in I)\) is called regular (standard) if for every finite subset J of I which is A-transversal (A- minimal) the associated projection map is onto. The paper surveys these two concepts in the context of locally finite varieties. For such V, every subdirect product of subdirectly irreducibles is regular (standard) if and only if V is semi simple arithmetical (congruence permutable). Also, generating sets of such varieties are characterised, intrinsically.
