    Let f be in \(L_ p([0,2\pi]\times [0,2\pi]),\) and let \(\sum_{n,m}a_{mn}e^{i(nx+my)}\) be the Fourier series of f. The author proves the following theorem. Theorem: Let \(f\in F_ p([0,2\pi]\times [0,2\pi]), 1<p\leq 2\), lt \(N(x,y)=| \lambda x+\mu y|,\lambda,\mu>10^{10}\) and \[ Tf(x,y)=\int^{\pi}_{-\pi}\int^{\pi}_{-\pi}\frac{\exp [i(N(x,y)x'+N^ 2(x,y)y')]}{x'y'}f(x-x',y-y')dx'dy' \] where the integral is taken in principal value. Then there exists a constant \(C_ p\) independent of \(\lambda\), \(\mu\) and f such that \(\| Tf\|_ p\leq C_ p\| f\|_ p.\)
