Regular colligations for several commuting operators in Banach space (Q791120)

Recent results of the theory of colligations of several commuting Hilbert space operators, due to M. S. Livšic, Integral Equations and Operator Theory 2, 25-47 (1979; Zbl 0407.35072) and 3, 489-507 (1980; Zbl 0472.47007) are extended in two directions. Motivated by other colligation concepts, the author introduces a general class of commutative operator colligations in Banach space, and he shows that with appropriate modifications the discriminant theorem, the generalized Cayley-Hamilton theorem and the coupling theorem of the Livšic theory also hold in this general setting. Further, it is shown that the condition of strictness in the discriminant theorem and the coupling theorem may be replaced by an essentially weaker condition of regularity. Different versions of embedding theorems for regular commutative colligations are considered.
