The paper deals with the mechanism of human temperature regulation. The aim of this paper is to show that temperature regulations can be described by a butterfly catastrophe model involving three cusps, two of which disappear by way of a swallowtail when the ''set point'' of the central body temperature approaches the lower or upper limit beyond which survival is not possible.
