The causality violation appearing in the Gödel solution calls forth investigation on how the rotation is connected to causality and what observations can tell us on the causal status of our universe. The A. brings partial answers to these questions by investigating the Ozsvath class I models depending on a parameter \(\alpha (0\leq \alpha<frac{1}{2})\), the lower limit corresponding to the Einstein static universe. The study of null geodesics shows that at a first order change (in \(\alpha)\) (hence in presence of shear) caustics have edges, where those geodesics change direction, allowing thus the causality preservation. However, the observational location of edges still remains an open problem.
