On homeomorphisms with pseudo-orbit tracing property (Q792679)

Let f:\(X\to X\) be a homeomorphism of a compact metric space X and let \(\Omega\) be the non-wandering set of f. The author first proves the following theorem: If (X,f) has the pseudo-orbit tracing property (P.O.T.P.), then so does (\(\Omega\),f). Next, the author considers the case when (\(\Omega\),f) is expansive and has the P.O.T.P., and establishes Smale's spectral decomposition theorem and Bowen's decomposition theorem. Using these, the author proves that if (\(\Omega\),f) is topologically transitive and if there is a point \(p\in \Omega\) with \(f(p)=p\) then (\(\Omega\),f) is topologically mixing.
