The \(\tau\)-function of the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation. Transformation groups for soliton equations. I (Q793231)

The paper is the first one in a series of papers which aims at a further study of \(\tau\)-functions introduced by Sato, Miwa and Jimbo. The authors give an expression for the \(\tau\)-functions of the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation by means of the Clifford operators. They give the explicit forms of Hirota's bilinear equations.
