The object of this note is the study of finite configurations of conics in the complex projective plane \({\mathbb{P}}_ 2({\mathbb{C}})\). The author introduces some numerical projective invariants for some of such configurations and discusses how these numbers vary with the configuration. No proofs are given, although some of them do not seem to be trivial. The interest for this type of researches has been recently stimulated by a remarkable paper by \textit{F. Hirzebruch} [Arithmetic and geometry, Pap. dedic. I. R. Shafarevich, vol. II: Geometry; Prog. Math. 36, 113-140 (1983; Zbl 0527.14033)] in which abelian covers of \({\mathbb{P}}_ 2({\mathbb{C}})\) branched over a finite number of lines are studied in order to construct algebraic surfaces with linear genus high with respect to the arithmetic genus. Hirzebruch himself suggests to study the analogous question for conics, but unfortunately the present note contains no application in this direction.
