The system of four equations \[ \partial u_ 1/\partial t=c_ 1\partial^ 2u_ 1/\partial x^ 2-c_ 2\partial^ 2u_ 1/\partial y^ 2+(v_ 1-v_ 2)u_ 1, \] \[ \partial u_ 2/\partial t=c_ 2\partial^ 2u_ 2/\partial y^ 2-c_ 1\partial^ 2u_ 2/\partial x^ 2+(v_ 2-v_ 1)u_ 2, \] \[ \partial v_ 1/\partial x=2c_ 2\partial(u_ 1u_ 2)/\partial y,\quad \partial v_ 2/\partial y=2c_ 1\partial(u_ 1u_ 2)/\partial x. \] \((c{}_ 1,c_ 2\) are complex constants) is considered. It is shown that the system may be solved by the inverse scattering method applied to the Dirac system.
