Let A be a finite dimensional, hereditary algebra over some field K, given as tensor algebra of a K-species S with valued graph \(\Gamma\) [\textit{V. Dlab}, \textit{C. M. Ringel}, Mem. Am. Math. Soc. 173 (1976; Zbl 0332.16015)]. Let R denote the trivial extension of A by the bimodule \(DA=Hom_ K(A,K)\). The author studies the interrelations between the categories mod A and mod R of finitely generated right A-, respectively R-, modules. He introduces reflection functors \(S^+_ k (S^-_ k):mod R\to mod \sigma_ kR\) where \(\sigma_ kR\) is the trivial extension of the algebra \(\sigma_ kA\) obtained from A by a reflection \(\sigma_ k\) on the valued graph \(\Gamma\). These reflection functors are extensions of the corresponding reflection functors from mod A into mod \(\sigma {}_ kA\) and, as in the hereditary case, the composition of reflection functors through an admissible sequence coincides with the Auslander-Reiten translation DTr (TrD) in mod R up to an autofunctor. Using the reflection functors the author proves that the trivial extensions of all hereditary algebras, whose underlying graphs (without orientation) are the same tree, are all stably equivalent.
