We think it is a great merit to have collected exercises that give deeper insight in measure and integration theory to those students that are willing to try them very hard themselves. Certainly, learning integration theory with the help of this book will yield more and better progress than with many streamlined textbooks. First, the author gives an outline of a course in integration theory, and then 230 exercises on the various sections of the theory. He always strengthens the connections of the abstract theory to ''concrete'' real and complex variable problems. Besides chapters on integration in the narrow sense, there are included chapters on convolution, Fourier transform and trigonometric series, and on absolutely continuous functions. Recommended to everybody who wishes to obtain a solid basis.
