This study deals with the turbulent diffusion of mass in a circular pipe flow. The theoretical foundations of the advective diffusion equation and some definite conditions are reflected. These conditions are: the flow is steady, axially symmetric, uniform and fully developed; there is a negligible difference between the densities of the injected fluid and the flowing in the pipe; the velocity profile is undisturbed by the presence of the jet; the momentum imported by the jet is negligible such that the pressure gradient along the pipe is constant and the flow pattern is conserved. An implicit finite difference scheme was used to solve the governing differential equation. The numerical predictions are compared with experimental results of J. Lee and G. V. Evans. The results of these paper show that the distribution for radial mass difusivity based on the turbulent kinematic eddy viscosity predicted by the k-l model gives the closest agreement between the numerical predictions and experimentally observed distribution. Some evident discrepancies in the ''mixing zone'' region near the injection nozzle are existent. All mathematical considerations are rigorous.
