On the continuity of the multivariate Padé operator (Q796010)

The following conditioning aspect of the multivariate Padé approximation problem is considered. The operator that associates a multivariate power series \(f(x_ 1,...,x_ p)\) with its Padé approximant of a certain order satisfies a local Lipschitz condition, in case the Padé approximant is situated in the first row or first column of the square block in the Padé table. The theorems are completely analogous to the univariate ones which can be found in \textit{L. Wuytack}, Lect. Notes Math. 888, 78-89 (1981; Zbl 0505.41011) and \textit{H. Werner} and \textit{L. Wuytack}, SIAM J. Numer. Anal. 20, 1273-1280 (1983; Zbl 0531.41017).
