Wave front solution of some competition models with migration effect (Q796469)

In this paper the authors consider a modification of the Volterra-Lotka competition model which includes transport of the two competing species with finite speeds. The interaction terms are of the form \[ f(u,v)u=(a_ 1-b_ 1u-c_ 1v/(1+e_ 1u))u,\quad g(u,v)v=(a_ 2-b_ 2u/(1+e_ 2v)-c_ 2v)v. \] (\textit{M. Yamaguti}, RIMS Kokyuroku 255, 86- 101 (Japanese) (1975), analyzed the same problem when f(u,v) and g(u,v) are both linear functions of u and v). It is shown that under a suitable necessary and sufficient condition the system has a unique (except modulo translation) wave front solution.
