Necessary and sufficient differentiability conditions for the polynomial \(P_ n(t,x)\) and the value of the best approximation E(t) of functions \(tr(x)+(1-t)s(x)\) (\(t\in [0,1]\), r,\(s\in C[a,b])\) by Chebyshev polynomials in the nonsymmetrical uniform norm are investigated. A certain statement about the operator of best approximation of continuous functions is proved.
