The author investigates the creeping flow between two circular cylinders with flow velocity perpendicular to the centre line of the cylinders. The flow is examined when the symmetry is violated in various ways. It is found that eddies which are not attached to either of the cylinders exist between the two cylinders. Two kinds of symmetry violations are considered. One is that the cylinder radii differ slightly from each other and the other is that the far field velocity deviates from being perpendicular to the centre line.
