Presentations for groups acting on simply-connected complexes (Q797690)

An explicit presentation for a group \(G\) acting cellularly on a CW-complex \(X\) is given. The presentation for simply connected \(X\) can be described as the fundamental group of a graph of groups obtained from the action of \(G\) on the 1-skeleton of \(X\), modulo one relation for every 2-cell of \(X\) mod \(G\). As a consequence one obtains that a group \(G\) has a finite presentation if it acts cellularly on a simply connected CW-complex satisfying: a) Every vertex isotropy group is finitely presented. b) Every edge isotropy group is finitely generated. c) \(X\) has a finite 2-skeleton mod \(G\).
