The paper is a study of infinitely divisible (i.d.) point processes in the spirit of the book by \textit{K. Matthes}, \textit{J. Kerstan} and \textit{J. Mecke}, ''Infinitely divisible point processes'', (1978; Zbl 0383.60001). A distribution P of an i.d. point process is called regular if its canonical measure \(\tilde P\) is concentrated on the class of totally- finite measures. A characterization of regular i.d. distributions is proposed which is then used to derive necessary and sufficient conditions for convergence of the null-arrays towards a regular i.d. point process.
