In the previous paper of \textit{A. L. Zelentsovskij} and the author [Autom. Remote Control 42, 853-857 (1981; Zbl 0492.93048)] a new criterion of absolute stability was proposed. The circle criterion was applied (in an appropriate way) to the system on the symmetric tensor degree of a state space. In the present paper it is shown that this new criterion extends the stability region which can be obtained by the circle criterion. Reviewer's remark: A rather complicated auxiliary nonlinear mathematical programming problem must be solved for the extension of the stability region by the proposed method. A detailed discussion of the related questions can be found in chapter 7 of the author's book [''Quality estimations of nonlinear controllable systems'', Moskva ''Nauka'' (Russian) (1982)].
