The authors consider second-order operator-valued differential equations of the form (1) \(Y''+Q(t)Y=0\) where \(Q:[a,+\infty)\to {\mathcal L}(B)\) is a continuous operator-valued function and \({\mathcal L}(B)\) represents the Banach algebra of bounded linear operators T:\(B\to B\) while B denotes a Banach space. Their aim consists of comparing the solutions of (1) with solutions of a second equation (2) \(Y''+Q_ 1(t)Y=0\) with \(Q_ 1:[a,\infty)\to {\mathcal L}(B)\) continuous. It is shown that comparison theorems of Hille-Wintner type are also valid for this situation. The results are expressed in three theorems, in one of which B is a Banach lattice while in the others \(B={\mathbb{R}}^ n\). They state the sufficient conditions under which the existence of a non-oscillatory solution to (1) implies the existence of a non-oscillatory solution to (2).
