s-consensus trees and indices (Q798576)

In this paper, an s-consensus tree and a corresponding consensus index for a collection of n-trees are defined. The choice of a value for the parameter s determines the number of nodes in the s-consensus tree and its strictness. The consensus index associated with the s-consensus tree provides a measure of agreement among the original n-trees. An algorithm is proposed for the computation of the s-consensus tree and the corresponding consensus index. Basic properties of the s-consensus tree are established and briefly discussed.
