    This is a discussion, and review with many examples, of the formulation of certain quantum systems from the view point of principal group bundles. Physical quantities, e.g. mass, are some concrete or ''natural'' differential operators (essentially Laplace operators) associated with principal fiber bundles where some classical geometry determines the nature of the coordinates. The topics studied are: principal bundles and gauge potentials, spectrum of Laplace operators, automorphisms, degeneracy, decreasing symmetry. At the end the author gives some personal conjectures on the origin of masses and the number of families of leptons and quarks in particle physics.
