Let f(x,y,z) be a germ of an analytic function defined in a neighbourhood of the origin and assume that the Newton boundary \(\Gamma\) (f) is non- degenerate and \(V=f^{-1}(0)\) has an isolated singularity at the origin. Let \(\Gamma^*(f)\) be the dual Newton diagram. Let \(\Sigma^*\) be a simplicial subdivision of \(\Gamma^*(f)\). It is well known that there is an associated resolution \(\pi:\tilde V\to V.\) However \(\Sigma^*\) is not unique. The author proves that there is a canonical way to get a simplicial subdivision \(\Sigma^*\) so that the graph of the resolution is obtained by a canonical surgery from \(\Gamma^*(f)\) which is considered as a graph. He also proves that a compact two-face \(\Delta\) of \(\Gamma\) (f) corresponds to an exceptional divisor of genus \(g(\Delta)\) which is equal to the number of the integral points on the interior of \(\Delta\).
