This paper deals with some special problems in deformation theory. First logarithmic deformations of holomorphic maps from one compact complex manifold into another are considered [cf. \textit{Y. Kawamata}, Math. Ann. 235, 247-265 (1978; Zbl 0363.32015)] and the existence of a universal family is proved (under certain circumstances). - As an application the existence of a universal family of ''equisingular displacements of surfaces with ordinary singularities'' is established once more [formerly proved by \textit{M. Namba} (Thesis, Columbia)].
