The authors present a global analysis of a class of shearing oscillations in isotropic, incompressible, nonlinear, elastic bodies. The analysis is developed by using bifurcation theory and Sturmian theory. The relation between amplitude and frequency is discussed. Application with a Mooney-Rivlin material is presented. The paper is brief but carefully written. It should be of interest to those working in the development of nonlinear vibration analyses.
