This note deals with the problem regarding the approximation of a continuous function f: [0,1]\(\to R\), by monotonically polynomial sequences. In a previous paper, the author proved the general result: ''if \(f\in C^ q_{[0,1]}\) (q\(\geq 0)\) then there exist polynomial sequences \((P_ n)_ n\), \((Q_ n)_ n\) such that for \(i=0,1,...,q\), we have \(P_ n^{(i)}\to f^{(i)}\), \(Q_ n^{(i)}\to f^{(i)}\) uniformly, \((P_ n^{(i)})_ n\) being monotonically decreasing and \((Q_ n^{(i)})_ n\) monotonically increasing on [0,1]''. In this note, this result is obtained in a constructive way, in the particular case \(f\in C^{q+2}_{[0,1]}\). The construction of the sequences \((P_ n)_ n\), \((Q_ n)_ n\) in the general case, is still an open question. For details regarding the problem, one can consult the bibliograhy of the note and a recent paper ''Sur les ensembles denses dans quelques espaces de fonctions réelles'', published in Mathematica (Cluj), No.1 (1984).
