Let u be the solution of the Dirichlet problem \(\Delta u=c^ 2u\) on \(\Omega\) and \(u|_{\partial \Omega}=1\), where \(\Omega\) is a domain of \({\mathbb{R}}^ 2\) or \({\mathbb{R}}^ 3\). Under the assumption that \(\partial \Omega\) has a non-negative curvature (mean curvature) the following two inequalities are presented: \[ \tanh (c\rho)/e\rho \leq \int_{\Omega}u(x)dx/\int_{\Omega}dx\leq (\int_{\partial \Omega}uds/c\int_{\Omega}dx)\tanh (c\rho), \] where \(\rho\) is the radius of the largest sphere contained in \(\Omega\). These inequalities have an important chemical meaning.
