The disturbance in a transversely isotropic semi-infinite elastic medium due to the torsional motion of a circular ring source on the free surface of a medium is considered in this paper. The problem is solved by using Laplace and Hankel transforms and the Laplace inversion is done by the Cagniard-De Hoop technique. The integral for the displacement is evaluated numerically and calculated at different points on free surface. The numerical results are shown graphically and are found to be in good agreement with the results of isotropic elastic half-space case.
