The paper deals with nonlinear n-th order difference equations of the form \[ z_ t=H(z_{t-1},z_{t-2},...,z_{t-n}) \] where the function H is positively homogeneous of degree one, nondecreasing in each variable and strictly increasing in the first and the last variable. The main result is that under those conditions the equation is relatively stable, i.e. each solution \(z_ t\) with nonnegative nonzero initial vector satisfies the relation \(\lim_{t\to \infty}z_ t/\lambda^ t=c\) with positive constants c and \(\lambda\), the latter being independent of the initial values. Applications and modifications of this result conclude the paper.
