By his ''strip method'' the author constructs some tilings in the euclidean plane connected with the eighteenth problem of Hilbert. Especially, he constructs non-compact tiles forming at least one homogeneous tiling but having only non-trivial stabilizers; moreover, compact and non-compact tiles forming exclusively non-homogeneous tilings of the plane. The method is the following: one takes a discrete transformation group acting simply transitively on an appropriate strip-tiling, the form of the strip is given so that the eigensymmetry group of the strip-tile shall not be compatible with any crystallographic groups. Then the subdivision of the strip-tile by the eigensymmetry group provides us the wanted tiling. For a survey the author refers to \textit{B. Grünbaum} and \textit{G. C. Shephard} [Bull. Am. Math. Soc. New Ser. 3, 951-973 (1980; Zbl 0463.51019)]. The reviewer mentions the paper of \textit{B. N. Delone}, \textit{N. P. Dolbilin} and \textit{M. I. Shtogrin} [Tr. Mat. Inst. Steklova 148, 109-140 (1978; Zbl 0461.52008)].
