The authors obtain a solution method for an incorrectly posed problem on a weak compactum that ensures an a posteriori estimate for the accuracy of the approximate solution for fixed error level in specifying the initial data. Results of numerical implementation of the method using the example of the Cauchy problem for the Laplace equation are considered.
