Attenuation of coupled waves in simple antiferromagnetic elastic conductors under the influence of weak magnetic fields is studied. Three dissipative mechanisms, namely viscosity, spin-lattice-relaxation and electrical conduction are taken into consideration. It is found that all the three mechanisms influence the attenuation, to a greater or lesser extent, of the transverse elastic modes outside the resonance region. The combined effect of electric conduction and spin- lattice relaxation is to modify the absorption of spin-waves while viscosity and spin-lattice relaxation together are shown to contribute to the damping of mixed elastic spin modes in the two magnetoacoustic resonance regions. The magnetoacoustic resonance regions are stated to correspond to the interaction of left-circularly polarized transverse elastic waves and an upper spin-wave branch and right-circularly polarized transverse elastic waves and a lower spin-wave branch.
