The paper deals with orthogonal and Chebyshev polynomials [of first kind according to \textit{N. Y. Akhiezer}, Bull. Acad. Sci. URSS, VII. Ser. No. 9, 1163-1202 (1932; Zbl 0007.00802), ibid. No. 3, 309-344 (1933; Zbl 0007.34106), ibid. No. 4, 499-535 (1933; Zbl 0007.34201)] on \(E=[a_ 1;b_ 1]\cup [a_ 2;b_ 2]\), \(-1=a_ 1<b_ 1<a_ 2<b_ 2=1\) with weight function u/h where \[ h(x)=(-1)^ i\pi \sqrt{(1-x^ 2)(x-b_ 1)(x-a_ 2)},\quad x\in (a_ i;b_ i),\quad i=1,2, \] and \(u(x\)) is a polynomial dividing \(h^ 2(x)\). There are obtained formulas that did not contain elliptic functions and connect the orthogonal polynomials with respect to \(u/h\) and \(-h/u\). There are given relations for the recursion coefficients of the orthogonal polynomials. The connection between Chebyshev polynomials of the first kind on \(E\), orthogonal polynomials on \(E\) and classic Chebyshev polynomials of first kind on \([-1,1]\) is shown.
