The author investigates stability properties of weakly coupled reaction- diffusion systems by means of vector Lyapunov functions and shows that this effective approach is also a natural setting for the discussion of such systems. The idea of proof is based on that of \textit{F. A. Howes} and \textit{S. Whitaker} [Nonlinear Anal., Theory Methods Appl. 12, No.12, 1451- 1459 (1988; Zbl 0712.35012)].
