Let \(\phi_ n: [0,\infty)\to {\mathbb{R}}\), satisfying \(\phi_ n(0)=0\), \(\phi_ n(1)=1\), \(\phi_ n\) increasing and \(\phi '_ n\) decreasing. Then \(\ell (\phi_ n)=\{(x_ n)_ n:\sum_{n}\phi_ n(| x_ n|)<\infty \}\) is a complete metric linear space. The following theorem is proved: T is a surjective linear isometry of \(\ell (\phi_ n)\) iff there is a permutation \(\sigma\) and a sequence of scalars \((t_ n)\) such that \[ (Tx)_ n=t_ nx_{\sigma (n)},\quad \phi_ n(| t_ n|)=1,\quad \phi_{\sigma (n)}=\phi_ n,\text{ for } each\quad n. \] An application to \(\ell (p)\), \(p(p_ n)\) is obtaind, for \(\phi_ n(t)=t^{p_ n}\) \((0<p_ n\leq 1)\).
