Experimental convergence rates for various couplings of boundary and finite elements (Q803755)

This paper presents experimental rates of convergence for several boundary element and finite element coupling methods for a 2-D interface problem. The three methods discussed differ from one another in either the representation used for the boundary element method or in the way the interface conditions are applied. The numerical and computational aspects are considered. A comparison of the theoretical with experimental rates of convergence for each of the methods for various examples is made.
