A multigrid method for grid generation with line-spacing control (Q804267)

The author considers the application of the well known full approximation storage (FAS) multigrid method to the problem of obtaining boundary- fitted coordinate systems. This means that the curvilinear coordinates are solutions of an elliptic differential system in the physical plane with Dirichlet boundary conditions. In the first part of the paper the equation to be solved is developed. The second part describes the FAS multigrid technique. Numerical results for test problems are shown in part 3 of the paper. They confirm the validity of the present approach.
