In this first part of the paper, an axiomatic characterization of the thermo-elasto-viscoplastic behaviour of materials is given, experimentally motivated and based on the concept of local current relaxed configuration. The usual assumption of elasto-plasticity of crystalline materials are retained. On the basis of the causality assumption, the complementary plastic factor can be introduced. The author has used many unnecessary symbols of abstract mathematics. As a result, the reading of the paper will be a difficult one, for both mathematicians and practising engineers. In fact, all physical ideas have been over-shadowed by the jargons.
