A Hadamard difference set (HDS) is a difference set with parameters of the form \(v=4m^ 2\), \(k=2m^ 2-m\), \(\lambda =m^ 2-m\). If the Abelian group G contains a HDS and H is a Hall subgroup of G then, under certain conditions, it is possible to get a HCS of H. If the order of the Abelian group G is \(4m^ 2\) and G has a HDS with multiplier -1 then the square- free part of m has no prime factors other than 2 and 3. Nonexistence results for HDS are given as applications.
