The author proves a trace formula for weakly equivariant coherent algebraic \({\mathcal D}\)-modules on a smooth projective complex variety, under the action of a complex algebraic diagonalisable group. It is an application of the equivariant Riemann-Roch theorem proved by him in Math. Z. 206, 131-144 (1991; Zbl 0696.14008) and some results on localized K-groups by \textit{H. A. Nielsen} [Bull. Soc. Math. Fr. 102, 85- 97 (1974; Zbl 0293.14006)]. In the case of equivariant regular holonomic \({\mathcal D}\)-modules, and by using the Riemann-Hilbert correspondence, this formula provides a trace formula for equivariant perverse sheaves. In particular, the author obtains a trace formula for the intersection cohomology in the singular case, generalizing the trace formula of \textit{B. Iversen} [Invent. Math. 16, 229-236 (1972; Zbl 0246.14010)].
