This paper is concerned with the Hurwicz homomorphism \(h_ n: \pi_ nX\to H_ nX\), where X is a CW complex. The main result is a bound on the exponent of the kernel of \(h_ n\) when X is an iterated loop space. There are also results on the cokernel of \(h_ n\) and related results on Postnikov invariants. The results are applied to algebraic K-theory.
