Partially conformal qc mappings and the universal Teichmüller space (Q804751)

Author's notation: \(\Delta\) unit disc, V measurable subset of \(\Delta\), A set of \(L^ 1\) regular functions on \(\Delta\), \(\chi\) characteristic function. The author's principal result is that the condition \[ \inf \{\| \chi (V)\phi \|_ 1,\quad \phi \in A,\quad \| \phi \|_ 1=1\}>0 \] is equivalent to conditions requiring V to be spread uniformly in \(\Delta\) in several senses. These conditions are shown to be quasiconformally invariant. Some extensions are indicated.
